Small artists matter too, so take a listen
Most of us have experienced a messy queer heartbreak, fallen for that one friend, or someone we know is straight, and it’s NOT fun. In his music, Dylan Dhindsa highlights all these sorts of feelings. Making moody melodies with lines that hit the heartstrings like the strumming of a guitar.
With 200 monthly listeners, and singles like Raceway, Small Heart, and Ava, you need to run, not walk, to discover their work.

About the Artist
“‘Sad and gay’ – that’s how Dylan Dhindsa jokingly describes his sound. The 22-year-old singer/songwriter, originally from Mechanicsville, Virginia, is inspired by artists like Semler, Conan Gray, and Adele, creating a unique blend of soul, pop, and worship in his music. His debut single ‘Ava,’ produced by Travis Heidelman (Dasha’s ‘Austin’) was released last February, and since, Dylan has curated a comforting community on social media, where he posts vlog-style videos, media reviews, and discussions on mental health, isolation, and other current topics.”
If you are a fan of Conan Gray, sad gay music, and driving with your windows down, music blaring, then we think Dhindsa should be your next top artist on Spotify.
Ava and Small Heart are our personal favorites, but we think that each song should be added to your playlists wherever you listen– I know we are adding it to our ‘Sounds Fruity, I’m In’ soundtrack along with our other favorite queer artists!!

“cuz messages on landlines are all I have left, so even when the sparrows are too sad to sing, this world is hard to live in, don’t you learn so many things”
Dylan Dhindsa (Small Heart)
Why Listen to Small Artists?
As a community, we have the power to spread love through art and use our voices to make change. Small artists are doing that, and supporting them in their efforts is one of the most important things we can do to help create a supportive environment.
If you are inspired, go out, make change– just like Dylan Dhindsa is doing through his music. The world is your oyster, or your Ava (if you will).
